Consistent Start with a Slower Finish Laura demonstrated impressive pacing at the 2025 Portland Marathon, maintaining a strong average pace of 8:26 min/mile. Her performance was notable in the early segments, consistently hitting sub-8 minute miles from miles 2 to 7. She reached her fastest pace at mile 8 with a split time of 7:47. Her robust start saw her maintaining a position within the top 60 females overall. In the latter half of the marathon, Laura experienced a gradual decrease in pace. By mile 17, her pace dropped to 8:58 min/mile, eventually leading to her slowest split of 9:23 at miles 23 and 24. Despite the decline, she managed a strong finish with a final mile split of 8:04. Laura placed 22nd in her division, F30-34. Focusing on maintaining her early consistency throughout the entire race could enhance future marathon performances.
